Hands-On Church
Hands-On Church meets on the third Sunday of the month at 10am in the hall and we’ve been meeting (and growing!) now for over a year. It’s for all the family, not just children, although children over 5 years can be unaccompanied if parents are in church. We choose a different focus each month with related stories, songs and activities, including messy making-and-doing. There’s also a play area for the very young and a book corner for those who prefer doing something quieter – and even somewhere for adults to enjoy a cup of coffee! So Hands-On Church is fun and family-friendly and it’s a great way for those new to faith to get to know others. Together with the Family Service on the first Sunday of the month, it enables families to ‘be’ church, not just come to church.

It’s great that we have a deanery Children and Youth Network to help with resources – we use a lot of their Storybags and Storybaskets. The photo shows the story from one of our recent sessions - Jesus calling the first disciples to follow in his footsteps - which sparked off lots of talking and doing about being his followers today.
