“Pray One For Me”
On Ash Wednesday the Church of England launches a new website, www.prayoneforme.org, where anyone can post their prayer requests and know that they will be prayed. Prayoneforme.org will be supported by church groups and prayer communities across the Church of England who will pray the prayers. The site will be open throughout the year.
The site builds on the success of a similar one run during Lent for the last two years. The new site and its supporting page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/prayoneforme) will also have short profiles about some of the people and groups who will be praying the prayers. It will also link to information for those wanting to know more about praying for themselves.

Welcome to David – Our New Curate
We hope that by now all our congregation will have been introduced to the Rev’d. David Austin, who started as Assistant Curate at St.Peter’s on Sunday 4th December. David was ordained as a deacon in July 2011, and has transferred from a local church to continue his curacy here. That means he joins us part way through his first year, so we can accompany David in his preparations for ordination as a priest, and share in the celebrations of his first Eucharist. He is likely to be with us until at least the summer of 2014, and after that will be looking for a post to move on to. David is an addition to our team of ministers and not a replacement.
Our Rector, Andrew writes “We are fortunate to have David as a full time resource. ” .
Contact details for all the Ministerial Team, can be found in the ‘Contacts‘ section.

Julie joins us on Placement
We are delighted that we have an ordinand on placement with us . Julie Bacon joins us from All Saint’s Church in Ilkley (just as Pat Read did a couple of years ago), and has been with us since 4th December and has already made a great contribution to our Choir. As part of her placement Julie has to preach a couple of sermons. We look forward to hearing the first of these on Sunday 8th January.

Congratulations – Ian
Many congratulations to Ian Widdowson, who having attended a selection conference in early December, has been recommended for training for ordination. This is great news for Ian and the church. Ian has chosen to apply for unpaid, local ministry and so he will stay with us at St. Peter’s once he is ordained. In the meantime he will continue on the theology course he has already begun (in faith) and all being well will proceed to ordination in two or three years time.
We will keep you posted of his progress.

Gwyn and her husband Paul, joined our Church about a year ago when they moved into Low Mill Village in Addingham. Gwyn was already an experienced Reader in the Wakefield Diocese, and brings with her a wealth of experience. We pray for Gwyn and her ministry.

Articles for ‘SOURCE’ are always welcome and the more we have, on a wide range of topics from as large a number of contributors as possible, the better and more interesting the magazine will be for our readers.
