Round-up of regular events at St. Peter's

St. Peters Church Addingham

Cross Bottom

This ancient site of Christian worship, both building and grounds, are worth a visit – and you will find a warm welcome awaits you here. Besides our services of worship, strands of life here that you may like to know about include:

  • CHOIR: We sing at all Sunday services, and practise together on alternate Friday evenings at 7.30 p.m. – all singers are welcomed with open arms! Margaret Widdowson and Judith Idle are our joint Choirmistresses.
  • FOSPA TEAS: Friends of St. Peter’s Addingham (us!) serving  teas since 1980 here on Sundays from Whitsuntide to Harvest from 2.00 pm until 5.00 pm – a warm welcome, and a lovely place for an outing for all the family.
  • BELLRINGERS: we have 6 bells, and an enthusiastic all-age band of ringers. We practise at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesdays jointly with Ilkley All Saints’ ringers (1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays of the month at All Saints’, Ilkley; 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at St. Peter’s)
  • WULFHERANS: named after the Anglo-Saxon Bishop who was here in 867! We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.45 p.m. We are a mixed fellowship group who enjoy a variety of activities including visiting speakers, treasure hunts and wine tasting. Good food and companionship is always guarateed.
  • CRAFT GROUP: knitting, stitching, painting – if this is your thing, this is the place for you! Wednesdays at 2 p.m. in St. Peter’s Hall.
  • ST. PETER’S TODDLERS GROUP: a chance for parents to meet and chat over a coffee while the children play – meets every Thursday in the church hall from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., with a Toddler Service in church at 11 am on the third Thursday of the month.
  • TRAIDCRAFT STALL: a chance to purchase and order fairly-traded goods, Sunday mornings after church in the hall from October to May – get all your gifts, food supplies and other sundries here, and make a real difference to the producer’s lives.

Don’t forget the Information Area at the back of church, where you can browse or borrow from a large collection of books, see details of the charity of the month, view the Book of Remembrance, and enter your prayer requests in the book.
